A few of my pix of Butterstick can be seen on my Flickr page. Enjoy!

r.i.p. facundo montenegro

I learned this morning that one of the original DC for Dean and DC for Democracy members, Facundo Montenegro, succumbed to lung cancer early yesterday morning. He died at home, with friends and family at his side. Facundo was one of the most lively people I’d ever met. Possessing a command of many languages (including

david gilmour to tour!

Okay, the latent Pink Floyd geek in me is coming out: David Gilmour is releasing a new album this winter, called On An Island. In addition, he’ll be touring behind the release, his first solo tour since 1984, and his first tour of any kind since 1994-95. Should be fun – I hope he consders

panda cuteness

Just a quick post – photos will come tonight. Butterstick is adorable, and it was great to be able to see him while he’s still a baby. We’ll certainly return to see him as he grows up. And the baby cheetahs are growing up, too – though they were keeping warm in their den.

And it looks like Lowell Weicker (I-CT) might be leaning toward running a challenge campaign to win back his old senate

it’s snowing!

Snow is falling in DC! Yay! Of course, this means that DC residents are going nuts, storming the grocery stores and buying all the water, toilet paper and bread they can get their hands on. It’s very silly, if you ask me, because a few inches of snow won’t make things impassable. It’ll make the

gottem tree, need clean burrow

The tree has been cut and is sitting in a bucket of water in the entryway. The Burrow still needs a lot more tidying. I need to wrap up a paper for class. And the cleaning…. and the cleaning…. Ack!
