This year's treeLast night we had our annual tree trimming party, which was a smashing success. Friends dropped by to enjoy food, drink, friendship and the decoration of a Norway spruce.

We cut our tree at a tree farm in Aldie, VA, which is about an hour’s drive from The Burrow. We’ve been going to the same tree farm for the past few years, and this year didn’t disappoint: there were many great trees from which to choose. We settled on a 6-foot specimen, just right for the ceiling height in our living room.

Now the prep work for the party was anything but fun: tons of cleaning, rearranging and frantic running around in The Burrow to get things in a condition to have friends visit. But it all came together in the nick of time, as usual.
