lieberman should shut the $@#% up about iraq

Watching Sen. Lieberman (CFL-CT) on Meet The Press shows that he doesn’t know a thing about international affairs. Seriously: he knows nothing. He doesn’t understand the way the Middle East works, he doesn’t understand how the war in Iraq has done nothing to improve the security of the United States, or of his beloved Israel,

quick reviews: zola and tabard inn

This week is Restaurant Week here in DC, so sprite and I have sampled the wares of two local eateries, neither of which we’d visited before. On Wednesday night, we dined at Zola, located above the International Spy Museum. The restaurant is very modern, with dark lighting and warm wood and burgundy highlights throughout. The

mmmm…. coffee

I can smell the coffee brewing about 15 feet from me. It smells like heaven. In case you haven’t noticed, I haven’t posted any rides recently – nor have I used the bike as a means of commuting this week. This is due to the fact that the big toe on my right foot is

pardon the dust

Trying out a new theme – it’ll be finalized soon. Until then, things may break from time to time. Update: I think I have most things hammered out. I replaced the generic “Web 2.0″ header with a picture I snapped on final approach to IAD on Monday. I still want to work out the spacing

back at work

Today was my first day back at work in over a week, and it went fine. I was refreshed, and things were uneventful. I’ve posted photos from the trip to my Flickr page. I hope that winter will find its way to DC soon, because I already miss the snow.

I write this entry from the seating area around gate B36 at Denver International Airport, awaiting my flight back to DC. All-in-all, it was a good trip home. My mom’s hip is really bothering her, and it’s evident in her ginger movements around the house. Her surgery is in June, and she (and I) can’t

two days of skiing under the belt

Spent the last two days skiing out here in Utah. And if there was one common feature between the two areas I skied, it was the bitterly cold weather. But each place was its own, unique experience.

back in utah – home of winter

Flew into Salt Lake City last night to be greeted by a steady snowfall – yay! Winter, you’ve been missed! All day, lake effect snows have shrouded the Wasatch Mountains, and the alpenglow this evening was most lovely. I spent today hanging out with my mom, going over things (e.g. house repairs, our trip to

3,690.2 miles

That’s the distance I cycled in 2006. It’s not the 4,000 mile goal I privately set for myself, but I’m pleased. The goal for 2007? 5,000 miles. And I’m already over 85 miles into the journey.
