A group recovery ride to shake off the grime from Saturday’s mega-ride. This was a fun group: 16 of us, all PPTC riders, tooled around a mostly-flat route that spanned two valleys. While there was one decent-sized hill (you can see the route map here), the ride was social and playful. And we were all glad that the big ride was on Saturday, as Sunday dawned overcast and more muggy. We just finished the ride when the drizzle started.

Both Wolfgang and I had our cameras out for most of the ride, snapping shots. We’d alternately sprint ahead to set up some fly-by shots, hold our cameras over our shoulders to get some in-flight moments, or ride beside our friends and take the close-up shots (and no, Casey Gibson doesn’t need to worry about our taking his place at the Tour de France).

We saw the town of Blue Grass (a most fitting place to visit, as the innkeeper at Trimble House is a bluegrass musician) and talked to some local sheep (the lambs were very, very cute). We would have coasting races down the hills and high-cadence spinning thrashes up the opposite inclines. All pace levels rode together, and we all had fun.

You can see a bunch of photos from the weekend on my Flickr page.
