Some thoughts that have been whizzing ’round my head today:

  • Summer traffic season has started in the District, so there are random drivers from points afar who stop in the middle of blocks, don’t signal where they’re going, don’t realize that you can turn on red (except where posted), and otherwise make life more dangerous for all involved.
  • The only TV shows I plan on watching with any regularity this fall are The West Wing and House. Anything else is off my radar – and no, I don’t plan on getting cable or a dish anytime soon.
  • Novell NetWare officially sucks. It has long since become irrelevant, and needs to retire to the land of obsolete computer infrstructure.
  • I love my Mac. I recently bought a Roger Waters CD that says “will not play on PC/MAC” on its label. This was true for Windows, as a XP-loaded PC wouldn’t recognize the disc. But my G5, running Mac OS 10.4.1, recognized it, opened iTunes, and allowed me to rip the songs to any format I like. So score another one for Mac OS.
  • Last weekend I bought an Oxo GoodGrips mandoline, something I’ve wanted for a long time. Tonight I may give it a first whirl – can’t wait!
  • The Burrow still needs a bit of TLC in the form of cleaning. Some will be done tonight. More will be done in the ensuing days.
  • The weekend will be fun, as sprite and I will attend the broadcast of A Prairie Home Companion out at Wolf Trap. Should be a lot of fun!

As you can see, there’s a lot going on.
