Last weekend, the Veterans of Foreign Wars held their annual convention in Salt Lake City. In his official guise as mayor, Rocky Anderson presided over the opening of the weekend’s meeting…

… after which he headed down to City Hall to join an anti-war protest – again, in his official guise as mayor.

The reaction to Rocky’s participation in the rally has been mostly positive. Sure, some people have derided him as “pathetic” and full of “pseudo-intellectual bull.” But the majority of people who have written emails to the mayor’s office have voiced their approval of his actions – which goes to show that, even in ultra-Republican Utah, people don’t all drink the BushCo Kool-Aid.

Rocky: you make me proud of my hometown. Kudos!
