The first PPTC “Downtown Breakaway” ride of the season. 12 people showed up, mostly BB riders. I brought along my lights in case of darkness, which added 4 pounds to my bike (the battery on my headlight is hefty, but long-lasting). I also wore a light shell that’s definitely not made for cycling, and inflated like a balloon if I rode faster than 15 mph. But the ride was good, with a few awful hills that showed the rust in my system. But I’ll get better as time progresses. It’s just nice to have the group ride back.
